“The Secret” ~ A book by Rhonda Byrne

Ok, this is the review i promised before. Truly sorry for the late 😛

So far i could tell you, if you haven’t read the book, THAT’S OKAY. I recommend the movie instead. From my opinion, the movie explains much better than the book does. I think it’s the movie that was made first then the book. But its okay, the book is also fine (although you have to spend Rp.65,000 for the hard cover, or Rp.45,000 for the soft cover), compare to the movie which costs only Rp.7000 haha.. what a different.

The writings are all about how you might make your own future. It’s a nice idea (from my point of view), it explains how the brain works in a certain frequency and get connected to the universe. It describes how you could become everything you think you are.

The prolog was so imaginative, it says it’s the secret that was treasured a long2 time ago.. and this “secret” was ever known by the greatest people of their time, and thus make them famous to what the difference they had made to this world nowadays.

There were some people in this book, where the sources come from. These people in the book did the different profession, so their opinion might represent various kind of thing. Okay, that’s good thing that this theory was supported in many areas.

When i read about this, i could see that some kind of things that i have already known psychologically were somehow related to this theory. It seems that this is the source to other theories that has to do with making the better life. Mentioned “Always think Positive”, “Think Big”, “Grateful”, “Never underestimate your self”, etc..

Always think what you really want to, never think anything you don’t want to

For example, when you are getting into an interview of a new job. You feel nervous. Well that’s a common thing. But now suddenly you’re getting more than that, you are now feel scare. Scare to death that you don’t pass the interview. And now you begin to pray “God, don’t let me fail this interview”, so on and so on…

Guess what, you keep saying “I don’t pass” over and over the time. Until this words are marked to your brain, and inside your brain there’s nothing but this words that exist for the interview. And you will fail (mostly do..). Instead of thinking like that, you must change a little bit. Never think of anything you don’t want to. Think like you are gonna pass this test, think if you had passed this test and thank you for the current condition. If you’d like to pray, pray “God, let me pass this interview” with full of confidence. And you will pass

Somehow your brain has enough energy to transfer a thought to universe, and the universe response on its own way. You just ask for it (language is unnecessary, just a thought), and pretend if you already have it. And please be thankful to your condition coz it might boosts your request.

Silent Day

Suppose you have a few hours doing nothing. You are doing silent. But.. imagine if it ain’t only your-human-being activities, instead all of resources should be shut down to make sure it’s really silent. Then you will have your car is not working, your tv set is powerless, the cellphone would be in silent mode (of course it would be a lot better if you just turn off the batteries), or perhaps you might want to make a cover for your baby’s mouth in case he’s crying a loud, or make it some also to your pets. And even more you might consider to close all network (thank you, i don’t wanna do that..)

Give a lighten up a little bit to the hospital, of course you can not just make all the hospital’s equipments shut down or you might have endangered humans life.

Bad things about it, you can not just do it. There got to be an agreement of all the nations to for instance to make this occasion for let says 4 hours. There some companies that might just lose millions of dollar when they were not operating for a couple minutes, specially for banking. All of the economics and politics would be in chaos situation, the security level would be out of control. Crimes everywhere, and guess what.. we can’t do anything!! we were in silent mode! Haha.. thank you for that 😛

PT. METBELOSA

Agak kaget juga sewaktu iseng2 googling pake keyword PT Metbelosa, ternyata PT tersebut termasuk perusahaan yang cukup besar. Pemiliknya dari Jepang Setidaknya dia punya website pribadi dan punya address email sendiri. http://metbelosa.com/

Sebenernya biasa aja sih.., PT Metbelosa ini adalah perusahaan yg kantornya selalu aku lewati setiap harinya. Secara lokasinya selalu dilewatin rute angkot 02 ke arah pulo gadung. Tapi ada yg menarik perhatianku tentang perusahaan ini. Terutama mengenai kewajiban yang dikenakan kepada pegawai2 disana. Yupz.. ada yang ganjil, pokoknya beda dari perusahaan2 lain yg pernah aku lihat. Perusahaan ini, PT Metbelosa, mengharuskan pegawainya untuk selalu bersalaman antar pegawai apabila mereka bertemu pada pagi hari. Ngga tau juga apakah hanya di pagi hari saja peraturan ini berlaku atau mungkin bisa saja sepanjang hari mereka memberlakukan peraturan yang sama.

Keliatan jelas dari angkot 02 yang selalu aku gunakan, setelah turun dari angkot selalu pegawai2 disana menyalami satpam yang bertugas mengawasi jalan masuk perusahaan itu. Dan apabila bertemu dengan pegawai lainnya mereka juga saling menyalami. Hihi.. aneh ngga sih? kalo menurutku sih itu berlebihan.

Budaya saling berjabat tangan sepertinya susah untuk ditelusuri asal muasalnya. kemungkinan sama seperti tindakan refleks manusia ketika mereka memanggil seseorang sembari melambaikan tangannya, atau berpisah juga dengan mengacungkan telapak tangan. Berjabat tangan juga diakukan untuk menghindari kesungkanan ketika bertemu. Atau untuk menimbulkan saling kepercayaan diantara keduanya, misalnya untuk menunjukkan bahwa tangan mereka tidak bersenjata sehingga tidak ada yang perlu dikhawatirkan.

Berjabat tangan juga digunakan untuk menunjukkan dominasi satu dengan yang lainnya. Jabat tangan yang kuat mengindikasikan karakter yang cukup kuat pula, sedangkan karakter lemah ditunjukkan dengan sebaliknya. Indikator dari jabat tangan juga biasanya dipergunakan oleh psikolog untuk menilai pasiennya.

Tapi untuk menggunakan kebiasaan itu dalam setiap kali pertemuan.. yah itu bukan merupakan option terbaik saat ini. Bisa dibayangkan bagaimana terciptanya time loss yang begitu besar. ga masalah kalau pertemuan memang dirancang untuk durasi yang cukup lama. tapi coba bayangkan kalau hanya sekedar berpapasan saja yang hal tersebut bisa diwakilkan dengan ucapan salam atau say hello dengan sedikit senyuman dan anggukan kepala menunjukkan penghormatan.

Perusahaan ini memiliki background dari negara sakura. Tidak tahu juga apakah di negara tersebut budaya jabat tangan sangat penting di dalam kehidupan mereka. yang aku tahu, Jepang adalah negara yang sangat menekankan disiplin dan efisiensi tinggi.

Kuis tengah malam

Sempet dulu beberapa hari merhatiin kuis-kuis yg ditayangkan di beberapa saluran tv swasta indonesia yg jam tayangnya itu lebih dari jam 12 malam. Penyebabnya karena bayarnya murah, atau memang karena isinya yg ga terlalu menarik (selain presenternya aja yg memang diset supaya berpakaian serba hot), acara tersebut ditaruh pada jam2 tersebut.

Mungkin karena lg ga bisa tidur kali ya, atau pada saat nunggu siaran live bola di tv yg biasanya jam 2 atau jam 3 orang-orang banyak ikutan kuis2 tersebut. Bagi yg blm pernah ngeliat bentuk kuisnya, ntar dibawah ada beberapa contohnya. Kuis nya seperti biasa bersifat on sms. Artinya, pemirsa mengirimkan sms2 sebanyak-banyaknya dengan menuliskan sandi tertentu ke nomer tertentu.Tipe pertanyaan pada kuis ini tidak terlalu pengaruh, karena jawabannya bisa sangat mudah atau bisa sangat banyak. Lebih jelasnya pada paparan berikut. Intinya, jumlah sms yg masuk akan menentukan seberapa besar peluang kita ditelfon untuk berkesempatan menjawab pertanyaan tersebut.

Tipikal pertanyaan menentukan metode timing pemanggilan. Contoh pertama adalah seperti ini, ada suatu kata dengan susunan hurufnya teracak. Lalu diberikan petunjuk mengenai kata tersebut. Praktis tidak mungkin kita gagal menjawab pertanyaan ini terkecuali memang iq kita dibawah rata-rata (baca: imbisil). Pemanggilan biasanya dilakukan pada akhir acara atau session. Disini masih belum terlihat unsur penipuan.

Kita lihat lagi contoh berikut. Kali ini pertanyaannya hal seputar kita. Mereka memberikan option untuk pilihan jawaban.
Misalnya begini, Mantan suami Reza Artamevia adalah : a) Roy Marten, b) Adjie Massaid, c) Pasha Ungu.

Seperti biasa line sms terus dibuka sepanjang waktu sampai waktu yg telah mereka tentukan. Pertanyaan ini kalau saja dijawab oleh masyarakat indonesia yg istilahnya masih mengikuti berita tentu saja ga akan terlalu sulit untuk dijawab, tapi coba kita lihat apa yg dilakukan oleh pihak kuis ini untuk sedikit memanipulasi. Mereka biasanya meminta sms dilakukan secepat mungkin dan sebanyak-banyaknya ( tentu saja karena cepat berbanding lurus dengan banyak disini) dengan ancaman bahwa penelfonan akan dilakukan setelah akhir hitungan ini (ada waktu digital disisi kiri layar, dengan hitungan mundur biasanya dari 2,5 menit). Tentu saja orang jadi akan mulai sms sebanyak mungkin dan menunggu hingga akhir hitungan tiba. Pas ketika waktu sudah habis, biasanya (kalo acara masih baru dimulai) si presenternya akan bilang, dengan suara yg sungguh mesra, “Yah, kamu gimana sih.. knp ga sms aku.. ya udah, aku tambahin waktunya dech..”hal tersebut dilakukan berulang-ulang sampai waktu yg sebenernya sudah mereka tentukan.

Nah, sampailah kita pada bagian yg menurut saya kurang ajar sekali. Ketika akhirnya mereka memutuskan untuk mulai menelfon, maka terdengarlah suara panggilan. Ini adalah hanya satu contoh saja, masih banyak lagi contoh2 yg lainnya. Begini contoh conversation nya:

Pemirsa : “Hallo dengan (…..biasanya nama kuis tersebut..)?”
Presenter : “Hallo selamat malam (bapak/ibu/mas/mbak)…(dengan suara merdu)”
Pemirsa : “Malaam”
Presenter : “Jadi jawabannya apa mas.. (ambil contoh mas aja deh)?”
Pemirsa : “Mm.. (sambil bingung2 sendiri) pertanyaan nya apa ya mbak?”
Presenter :” (mengulangi pertanyaan kuis)”
Pemirsa : “Oh, mm… apa ya? bentar mabak.. duuh..yang Pasha Ungu kali ya.. yang C mbak”
Presenter : “Yah mas, sayang skali jawabannya masih salah..”

—session ends—

Presenter : “Ya udah deh, kalo gitu aku ilangin yg jawaban C, sekarang kamu tinggal pilih antara A atau B saja”

Hahaha… masa sih bisa orang salah ngejawab pertanyaan itu? lagian gimana ceritanya dia nelfon dan masih nanya pertanyaan nya apa padahal sedari tadi sms terus di depan tv. Dasar penipu, mereka menggunakan kru2 mereka sendiri untuk menipu pemirsa di rumah. Jadi sebenernya yg barusan ditelfon itu bukannya pemirsa asli yg mengirim sms, tapi hanya orang2 mereka yg udah diset untuk membuat pemirsa lebih penasaran dan terus sms. Parah deh. Adegan ini bisa banyak variasinya tergantung konteks.

Oke, kita lanjut ke model pertanyaan ketiga. Tau bentuk TTS dengan huruf2 acak didalamnya? Nah, huruf2 tersebut dapat disusun mendatar, menurun, kebalikan, atau diagonal. Tugas kita adalah mencari sebuah atau beberapa susunan kata yg mereka kehendaki di TTS itu.

Yang ini lebih jahil lagi, mereka akan mulai melist. Penelfon2 awal aku yakin bukan dari pemirsa. Kata-kata yg mereka tebak tentu saja salah (karena tentu tidak seru klo awal2 langsung kena, ya kan?). Intinya begini, mereka tidak pernah mengeset untuk sebuah jawaban kata spesifik tertentu. Apa yg dijawab oleh penelfon bisa dengan gampangnya ditentukan sbg jawaban salah, toh jawaban2 mungkin lainnya masih banyak. Jadi mereka akan menerima telfon sebanyak-banyaknya dan tetap, jawaban yg dikehendaki belum ada. Sampai mungkin nanti di akhir acara, tiba2 ada yg menjawab secara benar kata apa yg dimaksud.

Satu lagi model pembodohan pada dunia pertelevisian Indonesia.

Jaipong Jalanan

Tadi barusan nonton liputan khusus mengenai jaipong jalanan. Agak miris juga ngeliat kehidupan para sinden2 cilik yg berjuang mencari nafkah dengan memainkan kesenian asli Indonesia. Bertempat di sekitaran Jatinegara, lebih tepatnya ngga tau dimana. Mereka melakukan pertunjukan dengan diselingi bunyi gemuruh kereta api yg malang melintas di belakang panggung.

Terkadang hujan lebat, namun mereka tetap saja setia menghibur masyarakat di sekitar sana untuk bergoyang melenggang lenggok dengan sekali-kali dengan gaya dihentak-hentakkan sesuai dengan irama musik jaipong. Kendaraan-kendaraan melintasi pertunjukan mereka, kadang melihat sekilas sekedar memberikan apresiasi paling minimal terhadap pertunjukan seni tersebut. Seulas senyum di kota metropolis.

Ironi memang, sewaktu kesenian Reog Ponorogo atau lagu daerah Rasa Sayange di klaim negara lain sebagai kebudayaannya kita berang luar biasa. Namun upaya untuk melestarikan seni kebudayaan tersebut tidak pernah menjadi prioritas masyarakat ini. Kemana tadi wajah2 berang yg dulu berdemonstrasi di kedutaan? kemana penulis-penulis yg dulu menulis secara tajam di harian, email, bahkan blogger sekalipun? Apakah mereka sudah lupa akan apa yg dulu pernah menjadi headline di harian2 utama di republik ini?

Kehidupan sinden jalanan memang sungguh tragis. Dengan kamar kos yg seadanya mereka tinggal bersama. Baju, pakaian dalam wanita, perkakas rias, menjadi pemandangan yang selalu menghiasi ruangan. Tidur pun mereka tidak keberatan berhimpit-himpitan. Bayangkan wanita-wanita itu akan tumbuh besar bersama di ruangan ini.

Tentu saja ada hari baik, yah lumayan bisa dapet 100rb ke atas. Tapi rata-rata cuman bisa 25 rb. Tentu saja lain ceritanya kalo ada undangan ke pesta-pesta, hasilnya bisa jauh lebih banyak. Seorang lelaki paruh baya terlihat menyawer. Uang yg diberikan hanya beberapa lembar uang ribuan. Diberikan secara kasar dengan cara melempar kepada masing-masing sinden yang tampil. Tidak tahu juga, mungkin memang begitu aturan nya. Yang jelas mereka tidak pernah sekalipun terlihat bermuka masam. Tidak bila masih berada di pertunjukan. Tidak bila mereka masih harus terus berakting menghibur para pencari hiburan malam di kota metropolis ini.

Lucu (part barbershop)

Ada sesuatu yg lucu kemarin. Sebenarnya bukan sesuatu yg lucu sampai membuat orang ketawa terbahak-bahak. Cuma aku baru ngeh akan satu analogi yg seharusnya orang banyak udah paham tapi mereka terus melakukan hal sebaliknya.

Kemarin aku sengaja siang2 pergi ke tukang pangkas di daerah glonggongan. Disana ada dua tukang pangkas yg membuka gerai. Biasanya aku ga pernah menggunakan jasa tukang pangkas di daerah tersebut krn biasanya aku sudah cukup puas dengan hasil salon (ciee.. gaya). Anyway jadilah aku mencari-cari tukang pangkas di daerah itu, dan aku menemukan kedua-duanya saling berhadapan.

Agak lucu juga, tukang pangkas yang pertama tempatnya dipenuhi pasien sampai antri 2-3 orang, sedangkan tukang pangkas yang satu lagi tidak ada pasiennya. Secara tempat keduanya tidak terlalu beda, meskipun yg bnyk pasien nya dilengkapi kipas angin namun tulisan iklan di depan tokonya sih full AC. Sedangkan tukang pangkas yang sepi pengunjung tidak melengkapi gerainya dengan fasilitas kipas angin tersebut.

Sebenarnya ngga masalah juga sih kalo banyak orang memilih tukang pangkas yang satu, mungkin sudah terkenal bagus dan juga langganan. Tapi coba kita telaah dari segi psikologisnya. Tukang pangkas yg menangani banyak pasien cenderung bekerja secara tidak maksimal. Tentu saja karena dia ditunggu oleh pasien berikutnya yg menginginkan jasanya cepat. Otomatis pekerjaannya jadi terburu-buru, dan hasil yg diperoleh konsumen mungkin tidak bagus.

Bandingkan dengan tukang pangkas yang sepi. Tentu saja dia tidak akan terlalu terburu-buru dalam mengerjakan pekerjaan nya karena tidak ada yang menantinya (kecuali anak istrinya yg berharap dia pulang membawa hasil yg besar yang sayangnya agak sukar diharapkan mengingat gerainya yang selalu sepi). Dia dapat maksimal dalam bekerja secara detil.

Aku toh cukup puas menggunakan jasa si tukang pangkas yang sepi ini, kita bisa konsultasi macam2 dan toh service yg ditawarkan nya sama saja dengan tukang pangkas-tukang pangkas lain nya.

Confusing World

Please imagine if somehow you were in this confusing miserable senses

I feel like that I’m not supposed to be real, and even more the world that i were in shouldn’t be real by any chances.

It only becomes real when there’s a maker. But who makes the maker? And who makes the maker of the maker? keep asking that, it should becomes an endless question without knowing the very beginning of everything. So the maker becomes unreal since there were so many questions surrounding it. Could you imagine if there’s a thing that come up from nothing and becomes everything at the same time because it was the causal of everything. You have no cause for it and i guess theres no purpose to have it

Can you define nothing, or everything? Nothing is a state that shouldn’t be exist anything, so there should be just emptiness that is allowed. Imagine a dark (the cause to the absence of light) area with no space (so its very limited in space or even zero in dimension). But emptiness is also a thing, so there couldn’t be nothing, there must be all everything in the beginning which also impossible cause it generates another endless question.

But in the fact (which i very doubt it as the reality), here we are. No question, no further arguments are needed. We could see the sun, we could touch our skin, feel the breeze of winds. And the amazing about it, everything were conducted in a same law. You can not say if let somehow in the past two stones are met by coincidental (say they were the first stone), they suddenly appear to have an agreement to work with a law, say newton’s law (F=GM’M”/R2). Even now, the law is still being obeyed, no matter the size or weight of the rocks. Its too incredible for let say as coincidental right? You must have something or someone who put the law for the first time.

So how can we compromise to such a confusing things? Seems it might have blown up my head already.

The Creation of Universe (Whats the point??)

You might have known the theory of creation that begin in a huge material explosion occurred in time zero and dimension zero. Called big-bang theory. Our mind is limited in those areas. What’s before that is particularly unknown.

What happened today is still the causal of the remain energy from the explosion. This is what we are; only energy formed to a phisically shape which taking many evolutionary processes until now. Could this is planned long time before? No one knows.

All began with a huge giant material. Of course material could have the same characteristic as energy (duality principal). Did this giant material exist by its self? Or someone or something brought this huge thing in? No one knows (at least only few people is really think about it). My opinion is that there must be a source (this is only prediction, not a scientific proof. You may call it by ‘God’) which should have a higher energy rate.

So how come this source exist? (Hihi… this is quite confusing, remember the chicken and egg anecdote?). How come this “energy source” was there without any creation of its self?

Or we can just face the reality saying “That’s it! What important is that we already exist, so don’t get too much think about old time” The matter is too big, the life is too short.

Is it wise to keep searching for the answer? Or we could just leave it and didn’t look back anymore (as many people did, well they’re not me 🙂 ).

The Novel

    Was, this is my favorite activity. Yes, reading a lot of novel books. Sometimes one is just not enough for a day. You might see me locked in my room, spent a whole day just to finish a novel. And yes, I’m not a kind of kid who likes to spend time for outdoor activities, I like the nuance when I was alone, pretending to be someone else, but instead my physical is not going anywhere, my mind is flying to another world where impossible and dreamy things could happen. I wasn’t me for a couple hours, and that pleased me so much.

My first interest was when my father gave me a novel by Agatha Christie ‘The mysterious blue train’ (I presume). A detective style novel. But unlike sir Arthur it contains more psychological rather than sequence and proof evidence. This novel attracted me so much, as I couldn’t predict the ending would gonna be. After finishing my first novel, I began to search another one and so on until it reaches a complete 73 series of Agatha Christies. And still, my analysis can not be 100% true for a novel, always miss some points.

    But, thanks to these novels who introduce me to the beauty of human psychology that becoming one of my biggest interest for whole my life. Not only Agatha’s, I read sir Artur’s, John Grisham (Runaway jury is my fave), Stephen King (scary as always), Michael Crichton (high-tech novel), J.K Rowling (the famous Harry Potter), Dan Brown (doesn’t impress me so much, too much assumption), Jostein Gaarder (I recommend this author pretty much, his books is worthies enough, such a philosophy novel), the author of Eragon (damn I forget this man), Michael Marshall (is progressing by now), J.D Salinger (for the magnificent Catcher in the Rye), the author of ‘a child called it’ ‘Lost boy’, and a lot more I forget to mention.

    I should describe the reason why do I enjoy spending my time reading novels in this paragraph instead the first one. But its okay, I’ll make it more obvious (does the previous one is transparent? I guess not…). By reading a story you’re forced to enter inside the story, you would imagine if you’re a part of the story. You began to identify yourself into one character (used to be the main character), you see what he sees, you think what he thinks, furthermore you’re become like him.

    That’s the part I like. For one moment I become someone else, someone else inside the story, someone else not me.

    What kind of story do I like most? Well, I have no specific one actually, as long as the phrase, the informing language is wonderful. Also the story is kind of sharp, make my heart beating fast. A bestseller would be a good reference (although my judgement is absolute). Unpredictable ending is not a bad thing. An epic would be wonderful too.

    Yes, I was grown up with books. I did miss something else as other kid has, but I gain another thing. I’m different. My mind is filled up with a lot of reading activities, my theoretical is incredible but my experience is quietly poor (lol). That’s why I should regain what I had lost back-there, so here I am.
